Snow Loop

I traipsed miles in the fall and early winter, trying to accomplish a crazy, self-assigned task. In the process, I saw some neat things - like this!

This loops of snow was just hanging off a retaining wall. I have no idea how it formed, but I thought (and still think!) it looked really neat.

IACC Annual Competition - Humour

The last category I entered for this year was Humour. It's not the greatest picture, but it makes me giggle every time.

That Purse is SO Last Year!

I did some editing to try to fix the lighting issues, but I'm not sure it's really that much better than the original. A little cloning was used to get rid of distracting pine cones by his ears. Most I left, but that one annoyed me.

And there you are! My 2012/13 Entries for the IACC Annual Competition. The winners won't be announced until the end of May, but I'm not expecting to win anything. I did have fun though, and it got me using PaintShop Pro and looking through pictures I haven't looked at in a while. I really want to go back to Hawaii now!

IACC Annual Competition - President's Challenge - Dreams

Each year the president gets to assign the subject of this category, and this year's theme is Dreams. You've seen a version of this picture on the blog not long ago.

I Am Not Spoiled

I'm sure the club will see more pictures of my beautiful girl next year! Who knows what lovely things she was dreaming of on this day? Perhaps that I would stay home and cuddle with her all day, instead of going to work.

IACC Annual Competition - Nortech Nature

The second competition I entered also required a trio of photos. In this case, 1 flora, 1 fauna, and 1 landscape. They all had to be "wild" and with no evidence of human... stuff. I raided my beautiful Hawaii pictures for this competition.

Landscape Title: Alien Landscape

Flora Title: Pincushion Protea

Fauna Title: Takin' it Easy

IACC Annual Competition - New Member

I participated in the local camera club's year end photo competition. I entered in 4 categories, and I will share each category on a different day. To kick this off, I will start with the New Member category. This is a series of 3 images, they do not have to be related to each other in theme or based on any particular theme. Each has it's title below it.

Painting the Day

Peace in Blue and Green

Racing to the Scene

Mostly I'm happy with the images. They aren't perfect, they could be better, and more skill with PaintShop Pro would certainly help. But I like them, and I'm very glad I entered the competition.

Photo editing - the beginning

I'm just learning how to work with photo editing. Here's a picture I was working with a couple of weeks ago:

And here is the version after I played with it:

Some things are better, some... well, I think are worse. But there you have it. Attempt #1.
